Song Birds
Occasionally we get a bird which likes to serenade us. They sit on our TV aerial and sing their songs at full voice. This one is a spotted-chest male thrush. We love to listen to him and he doesn't seem to be bashful that we like to watch and listen.

Oh my Dave, isn't he beautiful? He's very loud, too! My mother-in-law lost the ability to hear high pitches, and it was the biggest loss to her she could no longer hear the birds sing - I try never to take that gift for granted.

We have a few birds around here that are pleasant to listen to and some that aren't.... like the crows.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

I don't ever remember song birds where I grew up. It wasn't until we moved to Scotland that I had my first joys of hearing a robin and a nightingale. I love song birds and don't find my walk in the park complete without hearing at least one!

Shrinky, yes, he sure is loud, but pleasant. Good thinking about enjoying the birds. Sad about your Mother-in-law's hearing.
Ron, Ok about the birds there. Best wishes to you for Christmas too - Dave

Maggie, I think when we are young we are too preoccupied to listen. It's wonderful what we see or hear if we take the time. - Dave
